Project Description:

Molly spent her second TechMission Corps service year with Open Door Ministries in Denver, Colorado. At Open Door, Molly helped to set up the site's computer lab and in the process, created a computer lab manual as her second year-long project.

In Molly's manual, she cites the importance of Internet Safety (as well as some useful resources), computer assessments, educational software, and some recommended popular websites for children.

Illustrates how developing a positive self-image and cultural identity can help improve youth behavior.

Project Description: Jonathan Moy's year-long replicable project focuses on introductory computer curricula for elementary students. Jonathan created and implemented three separate curricula, targeting different grade levels (grades 1-2, grades 3-4, grades 5-6)

Each curriculum is formed around a weekly 45-minute class and can be applied to Windows PC's. Topics include:

Service Site: S.A.Y Yes! Pico Union

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Project Focus:

This project outlines how Teresa Pregizer created a detailed manual for the director and mentor positions at S.A.Y. Yes! in order to make sure institutional knowledge of resources and best practices is retained from year to year, even if there is staff turnover.  In this way, future directors will better be able to build on previous experience, rather than starting over from scratch.
